Solar Panel Technology

Dünnschichtzelle

In this section we provide interested customers an overview of the structure and functional principle of solar cells or solar panels and of the most important production technologies. Also, you will find out about how to interpret the characteristics usually stated when referring to solar panels.

The solar panels we primarily supply belong to the category of thin-film solar cells. This relatively new and innovative technology has great future potential thanks to its many benefits; the sector is enjoying double-digit growth rates every year.

SUNLOAD CIGS-thin-film solar panels comprise various thin layers that are built upon thin metal foil. The layer that converts light into power is made of copper-indium-gallium-(di)selenide (CIGS); these panels are usually referred to as CIGS-thin-film solar panels. In contrast to thick-layer silicon solar panels, which are rigid, heavy and prone to breaking, these panels have properties that make them the ideal partner for mobile applications, e.g. in the outdoor field: They are extremely light, durable and also very long-lasting.

In addition to CIGS-thin-film panels, we also offer quality approved, waterresistent and waterproof thin-film solar modules made of a-Si.
